Poetry for Our Days: Israeli Poets Respond to 10/7 with Rachel Korazim
The calamity of 10/7 has left Israel and the Jewish world in shock and despair. As more horrific details unfold, Israelis are finding themselves less able to talk about it. The expression heard most often these days is “ein milim – there are no words.” And yet, there are Israelis finding words to express pain and anger, despair and abandonment. In our sessions we will read and discuss poetry written by Israelis in response to 10/7. Study with master educator Rachel Korazim, a scholar of the Shalom Hartman Institute in Jerusalem, who specializes in Holocaust education, poetry, and curriculum development in Israel. Rachel will join us over Zoom from her home in Israel.  Co-sponsored with Congregation Beth-El, Temple Sharey Tefilo-Israel, and Congregation B'nai Israel.

Jewish Federation CommUNITY Mitzvah Day
Make a real impact on the lives of others by joining us in the Bobrow Kosher Food Pantry.  CommUNITY Mitzvah Day during Federation’s Centennial year provides opportunity to put our Jewish values of tikkun olam (repairing the world) and tzedakah (charitable giving) into action, making a real impact on the lives of others. At Oheb, volunteers will be organizing shelves, packing canned goods and non-perishable groceries into shopping bags, making plastic/paper grocery bag combinations, and breaking down cardboard boxes.
