SHABBAT for kids & FAMILIES

For kids up to age 12.

Looking for some quality time for your kids on Shabbat?  Oheb Shalom features two amazing opportunities.

OhebKids! is a weekly, teen-led Saturday morning experience for kids to connect, pray summer-camp style, and explore the weekly Torah portion. Led by an awesome team of madrichim (teen leaders), with adult supervision by Cantor Kissner and Miss Vivian, we will explore what it means to build community through games, discussion, nature-based activities, and play. Based on a one-room-schoolhouse model, kids up to age 5 are invited to join with a caregiver, and ages 5 to 12 are invited for drop-off. Leadership opportunities are available for kids who are interested.

OhebKids! meets on select Saturdays @ 10:45 am.



We also offer two Friday evening programs:  First Friday Shabbat features two dinner seatings, both adult and kid-friendly food, and a musical Shabbat experience.  Shabbat Club!  is a chance for families with young children to gather monthly on Friday evening and celebrate Shabbat with a casual kid-friendly dinner and family-friendly service.   Shabbat Club is free of charge, open to the community and for families with children aged 0-5, older siblings welcome.

First Friday and Shabbat Club! meet on select Fridays at 5:30 pm.

Snacks for kids and coffee for parents are always on hand. (Mornings are hard, we get it.)

You're always invited to join the full congregational Kiddush immediately following OhebKids.

The indoor playroom is open before AND after for some extra play time!

Our young family community prides itself on being warm and welcoming. You don't need to be a synagogue member to attend OhebKids.
