Families are encouraged to celebrate a Bris or a Simchat Bat (naming for a baby girl) at Oheb Shalom. Arrangements to use the building for a celebration should be made directly with the Executive Director. Members of the congregation or the community who wish to celebrate a birth ceremony should consult with Rabbi Cooper or Cantor Lippitz to create a meaningful birth ceremony. Rabbi Cooper is a Certified Mohel and enjoys celebrating the ceremony of Brit Milah either in the synagogue or in any location the family prefers. A Simchat Bat can be held for a girl in infancy or later in childhood.
