Get Involved in Our Community
Parents at Mickey Fried have an abundance of opportunities to participate in our preschool community and the Oheb Shalom Congregation community.
Our Mickey Fried Parents Association meets monthly and provides a forum for parents to give input on school policies and get involved in planning preschool events. All parents have the opportunity to participate in our classroom and school-wide functions. This includes planning and planting our garden with the children, organizing a holiday gift drive and wrapping party to teach the children about Tzedakah, planning school fundraisers and planning our end-of-year carnival.
Our entire preschool community comes together twice a year for a Shabbat luncheon where parents have the opportunity to meet other parents and see their children participate in an age appropriate Shabbat service.
Programs for Young Families
Mickey Fried families are also welcomed and encouraged to participate in Oheb Shalom's wide range of programming for young families. This includes our weekly Saturday morning children's service, Shabbat Katan, our monthly programming for families with young children through YOFI, a group which plans events ranging from apple picking in the Fall to a Hanukkah DJ dance party, as well as our Jewish Together monthly programming that focuses on a Jewish theme. Monthly Shabbat dinners at the synagogue and annual events like the Men's Club Pancake Breakfast and Spaghetti dinner provide additional opportunities to connect with other families at Oheb Shalom Congregation.
