High Holy Days

Renew. Recharge. Reconnect.

The High Holidays are a special time for our congregation.  Rosh Hashana and Yom Kippur are celebrated in ways that are uplifting, meaningful and exciting. We welcome prospective members and guests of members to our High Holiday services. Reserve your seats early!

The sanctuary service is led by Rabbi Treu and Cantor Kissner and includes participation by the Oheb Shalom chorale, a professional quartet of singers and professional accompanist who alternates between playing piano and organ. We use Machzor Lev Shalem, the newly published High Holiday Machzor of the Conservative Movement. Seating in the sanctuary is reserved on the first day of Rosh Hashana, on the second day of Rosh Hashana until 10:30 AM, on Kol Nidrei and on Yom Kippur morning. Active participation in the sanctuary service (Torah readings, aliyot, ark openings, carrying the Torah) is pre-assigned.

Offering participation, teaching and discussion in an intimate setting, the Chapel Service is for those who prefer an interactive and personal worship experience with no instrumental accompaniment. Active participation in the chapel service (Torah readings, aliyot, ark openings, carrying the Torah) is open to anyone who wishes to do so. The Chapel service is led by congregants and features open seating.

We hold services for children of all ages on both days of Rosh Hashana and on Yom Kippur morning. At the conclusion of their services, children are welcome to join their parents in the sanctuary or chapel.

On Yom Kippur afternoon, our congregation offers a variety of options, including a study session , meditation, and a traditional mincha (afternoon) service. At the conclusion of Yom Kippur, teenagers who celebrated becoming B’nai Mitzvah during the past year take part in a beautiful Havdalah service.
