Exciting news! CLOSED CAPTIONING will be available on Rosh Hashana Day 1, Saturday, September 19th. Special thanks to Mimi and Bob Sochor, Miriam Sisterhood, and MetroWest Able for their generosity in making this possible.
As well, thank you to Oheb Shalom’s Inclusivity Team, chaired by Denise Rekem, with members Mimi Sochor, Jordan Arsonson, Ellen Weinstock, Jenny Bar-Yaacov, Alice Cohen, Robin Sherer, and June Schechner for continuing their efforts in making Oheb Shalom accessible to all.
Here’s how Closed Captioning will work:
- Watch the High Holiday Rosh Hashana Day 1 Service on Oheb Shalom’s YouTube Channel (OhebShalomNJ) on your laptop, desktop, or tablet.
- Click this link: bit.ly/OhebShalom and a window will open that says, “You are connected to event Oheb Shalom.”
- Closed captioning will appear in the open blank screen.
You can set the size and color of the font for easy reading. You can also move and place the CC on your screen so it is in a convenient place to watch the broadcast.
Important! Do not click the Closed Captioning option in YouTube for RH Day 1. It's not as comprehensive as the captioning service we've hired.
While much of our service is in Hebrew, only the English will be captioned, including Rabbi Coopers Sermon and Doug Magid’s Free Will Appeal.
All services on YouTube are open to all in the community, so tell your friends they can join our synagogue for Rosh Hashana Day 1 service with CC!
