Beyond Dispute: Debates That Shape Jewish Life

7:30 PM - 8:30 PMAre religion and reason compatible? Can Jewish law change based on context? Should we prioritize Jewish causes or universal causes in our giving? Is Judaism intrinsically patriarchal and ableist?
Through text study and dialogue, we will engage in substantive debates that have shaped Jewish life. In the process, we will uncover some of the essential questions that define contemporary Jewish life. Each session will include a video presentation by a JTS scholar, text study and discussion. Attendance at all sessions is not required.
Wednesday evenings via Zoom: 7:30 to 8:30 p.m. – December 2-23, 2020.
